Another winnner from fellow Virginian Mary Randolph Carter. I liked this book agreat deal. Most are of the ship tied up to a pier, or entering and leaving port in New York and Southampton. While heavily researched, the author had a very clear anti-Bechtel bias, and focused on the items that reinforced that, and minimized other issues. I use this series as a reference guide at my job. Anyone interested in ocean liners of historic significance is going to want to own this book.. The second part is expressed from Harper's view point and just as effective and engrossing. I scale, reconfigure or combine the patterns. This one transcends my expectation. His hiring by one Captain Harper set off a chain of events which nearly consumed both of them.
