It seemed that her father enjoyed cross dressing and had decided that he would prefer to do so all the time. As someone who has experienced Shy Bladder Syndrome for as long as I can remember, I consider this book to be a revelation. We usually read the book 2-3 times in a row. It's just that elephants are so big and his trunk swings so widely .
The boy's grandma and grandpa seem rather skeptical of his elephant explanation. I must say I was confused a bit with the dreams of her real mother and the heaven scenes but once it is all tied together at the end of the story it was an eye opener. When I first picked up Bell's finished book I gritted my teeth with envy. I couldn't put this one down. Happily, there are no decorator-done spaces here!
