certainly a must read for any upcoming geologist/and or working geo- you also get to learn and hear about some history of various mines/oilfields around the world- but it also serves as a great mentor/encouragement to women in this industry- amanda is an amazing inspiring woman!!!. Hale has left room for a sequel, which I can only hope comes to be. This was okay if one is looking for short sayings or cliche's. However, just when the author seems to have slipped into a rut, she regains her balance with a truly funny or insightful line. This is an excellent historical account of the highly successful Bechtel Corporation beginning in the late 19 th century & continuing into the 21st century. If the main characters were straight, it wouldn't be called straight romance.
